Our tailor-made approach

StabInSea has developed digital tools proven by tank and sea trials.
These tools permit the study of different tank architectures and positions in the vessel or structure, to model open area fluid behaviour and define movement impact on the overall system.
The analysis takes into account the fluid’s non-linear effects and permits the coupling of the {tank+ship} or {tank+structure} system to be established with greater accuracy. Many iterations are possible to seek an optimal solution.

The result is a high-performance tank design, integrated into its geometric environment, without unnecessary mass or volume, and easy to build on site.

Vessels : in search of greater operability

Since 2016, GEPS Techno has been developing and optimising anti-roll tank architectures for vessels seeking greater comfort and operability. To date, some thirty ships have been equipped with tanks designed by GEPS TechnoStabInSea was founded in 2022.

The question of operability arises at the ship design stage where volume is reserved in the architecture for the future integration of one or more tanks.

Based on GEPS Techno’s expertise and tools, StabInSea offers a tailor-made approach for naval architecture offices. The question of operability arises at the ship design stage where volume is reserved in the architecture for the future integration of one or more tanks.

StabInSea offers to support naval architects with a stabiliser design study , both to meet the operability requirements defined in the specifications, but also to limit the volume to what is really useful. Adapted tank shapes can also be studied, in particular to leave free passage (equipment, personnel passage, etc.). The result is a less cluttered, lighter and more efficient vessel.

StabInSea can also assist architects and construction sites during tank stabilisation tests (supply of the tank model, test protocol, results analysis) or at sea (test protocol, results analysis).

Offshore structures : Limiting acceleration, increasing performance

Building on the success of its solutions for vessels, StabInSea also designs passive stabilisation systems for offshore structures.

Several customer studies have shown that free-surface fluid motions can stabilise an FPSO, a floating wind turbine, or even the nacelle of a land-based wind turbine. The architectures are adapted to the characteristics of these structures and permit the periods of dynamism to be filtered out.

StabInSea’s digital tools provide the flexibility to study these unique cases.

The expected gains can be truly significant: structure weight reduction, anchoring simplification, production performance enhancement, increase of installation weather window, etc.

For each situation, StabInSea offers a detailed study with a tank design and anticipated performance.
