Stabilization of six offshore patrol vessels (POM) for the French overseas territories - SOCARENAM

PROJECT CONTEXT

On November 2019, the contract for six new offshore patrol vessels for the French overseas territories was awarded to Socarenam. The fleet will be operated by the French Navies and will be deployed in New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Reunion.

With a length of 80m, a beam of 11.8m and a displacement of 1,300 tons in fully loaded condition, the POM (“Patrouilleurs d’Outre Mer”) will have a draught of 3.5m. They are designed to operate in harsh weather for typical 30 days missions.

With the objective of operating two intervention crafts and drones day and night, including in rough seas, the stabilisation of the vessels is a key point regarding their intervention capability. The choice of StabInSea’s  passive stabilisation solution was based on an in-depth technical audit to guarantee the end client a high level of satisfaction.
